Only/Once collects and sells vintage design artifacts, principally Braun products designed by Dieter Rams alongside pieces from Bang and Olufsen and other mid-century labels, organized into collections such as the Bauhaus Collection and the Braun Collection with a Magazine section of editorial posts. The storefront is a custom build with Stripe-powered checkout.

Website Design

Black, off-white and a warm red circle. The palette runs mostly black text on off-white, punctuated by a single red-orange used for sale accents, sold-out tags and the circular Only/Once stamp logo that repeats in the header and footer.

Product photography against plain grey. Individual pieces, radios, fans, clocks, a Braun SK 61 turntable, are shot on a plain grey ground, while the homepage and category headers use warmer lifestyle shots, such as a cream Braun radio on a shelf beside a houseplant.

Sofia as the display face. The stylesheet defines Sofia as the site’s custom font family, used across headings and product names.

Shopping Experience

A dense numbered grid. The BRAUN Selection category page states an item count and lays products in a three-column grid, mixing posters, books, clocks and radios in one list rather than splitting by object type.

Sold items stay visible. Rather than hiding out-of-stock pieces, the catalogue keeps sold objects listed with a Sold badge and a Get Notified prompt, useful for a collectibles shop where the exact item will not return.

Stripe-powered checkout. The cart and checkout run on a custom two-column layout, contact and shipping fields on the left, an order summary on the right, with Secure Payment via Stripe stated under the pay button rather than a redirect to a third-party checkout.

Brand Storytelling

A one-line mission. The homepage states its purpose plainly: the mission is to collect unique and timeless design artifacts, from heritage to contemporary, reinforced by a Dieter Rams pull quote, Good design is as little design as possible.

Press coverage as a blog post. The Magazine section runs editorial pieces rather than product news; a recent post covers the shop’s own feature in Monocle magazine’s April 2026 print and digital edition, describing the interview with a Monocle writer and photographer.

Notable Features

A named collectibles taxonomy. Products sort by object type, Lighting, Electronic Audio, Clocks, Home Deco, Lifestyle, and separately by curated Collections, Bauhaus, Braun, Dieter Rams, giving two parallel ways to browse the same inventory.

A live chat widget. A chat bubble sits fixed in the bottom right corner of every page, offering direct contact alongside the standard contact form and newsletter signup.

Restock notifications on sold pieces. Rather than removing a sold item, the shop offers a Get Notified option against it, treating each object as potentially reappearing in a future drop rather than permanently gone.
