Over more than ten years working as a Shopify app developer, as well as a full-stack developer, I’ve encountered quite a few Shopify themes. I’ve worked with the top free Online Store 2.0 themes, as well as premium themes sold on both the Shopify theme store, and third-party marketplaces.
The Prestige Shopify theme is by far one of the most expensive options offered on the Shopify theme store, but in my opinion, it does offer decent value for money.
Although there are cheaper themes out there, as well as options with a few more specific advanced features, Prestige is a great choice if you’re looking for a luxury, high-end aesthetic.
I think it’s one of the best themes around for fashion brands, jewelry companies, and other organizations selling high-end products. If you’re thinking of trying this theme out yourself, here’s everything you need to know, before you hit the “buy” button.
Quick Verdict: Pros and Cons
The Prestige Shopify theme is a beautiful, minimalistic theme, ideal for high-end brands. It benefits from an expertly crafted design, specifically built to highlight your products and brand identity. Plus, it comes with a lot of handy features, like cross-selling modules, promotional banners and tiles, and a great selection of fashion-focused tools, like lookbooks.
The biggest downside is its high price tag. However, there are some extra issues too, like limitation on certain page customization options, and a need for super high-definition images.
Pros:
- Beautiful, high-end design, great for luxury brands
- Lots of bundled features, like mega menus and pop-ups
- Great fashion-focused features like size charts and lookbooks
- Excellent customer support and lifetime updates
- Great sales tools, such as recommended products and cross-sell modules
Cons:
- Very high price compared to most Shopify themes
- Limited customization on product, home, and collection pages
- You’ll need very high-quality images to make the most of the theme
The Shopify Prestige Theme: Overview and Pricing
The Prestige Shopify is one of the most attractive premium themes on the Shopify theme store, promising a high-end, luxury aesthetic for modern brands. It was designed by Maestrooo, a Shopify Plus partner and high-end design studio in France.
They’ve also published a lot of other popular themes for Shopify, such as the Focal, Kagami, and Trademark themes. Still, the Prestige theme seems to be their most popular option, earning a 90% positive rating, with over 600 reviews.
What I really love about this theme from a design perspective is how clean and minimalistic it is. Prestige is all about drawing attention to high-quality images, which is one of the reasons why it’s such a great option for fashion and jewelry brands.
However, it is one of the priciest themes on Shopify’s theme store, for $380. Notably, this price does include lifetime free theme updates. Plus, you get an unlimited free trial to test the theme before you buy it. Still, it’s a big price tag for a smaller company.
Styles
Like most of the premium themes offered on Shopify’s dedicated Theme Store, the Prestige theme gives you a few styles to choose from. They all include the same features, but have a slightly different aesthetic. For instance:
Allure
The Allure style is very modern and sophisticated, with a soft white background and clean font choices, like Century Gothic and Futura.
Couture
Similar to Allure, Couture maintains a minimalist style, with a lot of white space, but it has a slightly brighter color palette. It could be a good option for a brand with a softer aesthetic.
Vogue
Vogue is the most vivid of the styles offered by the Prestige thing, focusing on bright, eye-catching colors for buttons, banners, and backgrounds.
Key Features
On a broad level, the Prestige theme includes all of the features you might expect from a high-end premium theme on Shopify. It works with the latest Shopify features, and has been speed-tested and approved by Shopify themselves, so you know it’ll offer great performance.
Plus, when you buy any theme from the Shopify marketplace, you get access to free high-resolution photos from Shopify Burst (which will definitely come in handy for Prestige). This theme is very visual-focused, so the more great images you have, the better.
Let’s take a quick look at the key features included with this theme.
Cart and Checkout
The Prestige theme offers some handy features to enhance the checkout process for your buyers. For instance, there’s a slide-down cart, and a sticky cart which stays in place when users scroll down the page, ensuring customers can easily check their cart at any time. Plus you get cart notes, in-store pickup options, and a quick buy function built-in too.
Marketing and Conversion
For marketing and boosting conversions, Prestige ensures you can design an eye-catching blog, and various other SEO-optimized pages, like an FAQ page. You’ll also be able to showcase promotions in a range of ways, with banners, tiles, and pop-ups, without using third-party apps.
There’s a recommended product and recently viewed product carousel, to help encourage higher average order values. Plus, you increase your customer’s sense of urgency with a stock counter, or customizable countdown timer. Prestige also gives you access to EU translations, product badges, and sections where you can showcase press coverage, for social proof.
Merchandising
There are a few particularly impressive features Prestige offers for merchandising. Aside from all of the standard basics like animation, image galleries, and image rollover options, you can create slideshows and product videos, as well as lookbooks – ideal for fashion brands.
Image hotspot linking makes it easy for customers to see an overview of your products and compare items while they shop. I also love the before/after image slider, which will likely be a great option for beauty, skincare, or fitness brands.
On top of that, you can create custom product tabs, or a timeline section to guide customers through your product’s story. Plus, you can create size charts, nutritional charts, and usage information guides, to educate your customers throughout their journey.
Product Discovery
One of the biggest benefits of the Prestige theme in my opinion is it’s amazing mega menu. The included mega menu means you won’t have to worry about downloading and paying for a separate app from the Shopify app store if you have a huge inventory to showcase.
Outside that, you also get collection page navigation, enhanced search, product filtering and sorting options, and the fantastic “recommended” and “recently viewed” product sections I mentioned above.
Customer Support and Documentation
Ultimately, if you’re looking for better customer support with your theme, I’ll always recommend buying a theme from the official Shopify theme store, rather than a third-party marketplace. Shopify includes a link to Maestrooo’s website on their homepage, so you can contact the company directly with questions or technical issues.
Generally, I find official Shopify partners respond to queries a lot faster than other sellers. Plus, the theme page is constantly updated with new version release documentation and notes. On top of that, you can always reach out to Shopify Experts, or freelance designers for help customizing your theme.
Prestige Shopify Theme Review: The Final Verdict
Overall, I think the Prestige Shopify theme is an excellent pick for anyone in searching of a high-end, minimalist theme, with a host of valuable features. Although it is a little pricier than some of the other themes available on the Shopify marketplace, it might save you a little money in the long-term, as you won’t have to pay for mega menu apps and cross-selling solutions.
Just keep in mind, you’ll need a lot of high quality photos to really make the most of the Prestige theme. If you’ll struggle on that front, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
