OFFHOURS is a New York design company selling what it calls “inactive-wear for being indoors”. The line is narrow: the Homecoat, a quilted robe-coat at $325, an Overvest at $345, and a digital gift card, offered across colourways named Affogato, Big Sky, Memphis, Michelangelo, Red Rock, Riparian, Varsity and Lunar, plus a collaboration coat made with Coming Soon. Everything is one size and gender neutral. Built on Shopify.

Website Design

A near-empty homepage. The landing page carries one line of navigation, one welcome paragraph and one call to action, Shop the Homecoat. There is no grid and no promotional block above the fold.

Neue Haas Unica against Times Ten. The theme pairs a neo-grotesque sans for interface and body text with a book serif for display, both self-hosted. The result reads closer to a print catalogue than a storefront.

Warm off-white with one red. The page ground is a soft off-white rather than pure white, set against black text and a saturated red used sparingly for alerts and emphasis.

Shopping Experience

A collection page sorted by colour name. Products list as a type and price followed by a stack of colourway links reading “in Affogato”, “in Big Sky” and so on, so a shopper chooses a name rather than a swatch.

No size selector, by design. The buy box states Gender Neutral and One Size, leaving colour as the only decision before Add to Cart. Separate panels below cover Colors, Homecoat Sizing and a Height Reference.

Fabrication given in gsm. Product copy states exterior 320gsm cotton French Terry, a 250gsm sanded cotton jersey lining and a 90 percent recycled polyester fill, quantified as the equivalent of 38 recycled plastic bottles, with a note that the coat is machine washable.

Duties settled up front. The page states that all orders ship DDP with duties and taxes included in the product price, and the cart offers monthly payments alongside a promotional code for buying two coats.

Brand Storytelling

Customer testimony instead of campaign copy. The product page runs a long Read Testimonials section of first-person reviews, each labelled with the colourway the writer owns and left at conversational length rather than trimmed to a pull quote.

A design studio framing. The About page describes a company “with a focus on functionality, comfort, and the everyday pleasures of life”, names the two founders, then credits the advisor, product lead, two website builders, three photographers and the videographer by name.

Notable Features

A packaging page written as an admission. OFFHOURS details recycled boxes sealed with paper tape, care and return instructions printed inside the lid, and a corn-starch poly bag certified to EN13432, while stating that it is “never ‘finished’ when it comes to sustainability”.

Happy Returns and a QR drop-off. US returns run through a portal that issues a QR code for in-person drop-off at a Return Bar, or a shipping label, with 30 days and free return shipping.

Thirty-three international destinations listed by name. The FAQ names every country served outside the US and flags those orders as final sale, alongside an invitation to email if a country is missing.
