Shoptiques is a curated marketplace that connects shoppers with independent boutiques around the world, selling women’s clothing, dresses, shoes, accessories, home goods and kids’ items sourced from thousands of small retailers. The tagline on the homepage states the model directly: “Shop local. Shop the world.” Founded in 2011, the site groups its inventory by boutique as well as by category, so a visitor can shop a single small shop’s collection or browse across all of them. It runs on Shopify.

Website Design

A black, white and gold palette. The header and footer run in black and white with a warm gold (#c79a4a) for labels and highlighted tags, plus a navy (#132132) for stock and hover states. The effect reads closer to a department store than a craft marketplace, which suits a catalogue pulled from thousands of sellers.

Typefaces built for a large catalogue. Body and navigation type is set in Figtree and Inter, sans-serif faces chosen for legibility at small sizes across dense product grids, with Barlow, Jost and Outfit also loaded for headings and display text elsewhere on the site.

Boutique-first photography. Rather than one uniform product-shot style, imagery varies by seller, since each boutique supplies its own photos. The homepage instead uses editorial banner images and a rotating carousel of featured boutiques to unify the look.

Shopping Experience

Two ways into the catalogue. The main navigation splits into product categories, such as Dresses, Clothing, Shoes and Accessories, and a separate Boutiques directory that lets shoppers browse a specific store’s full collection, with product counts shown, for example “2,408 products” for one featured boutique.

Standard grid, boutique labels. Category and collection pages use a conventional grid of product cards with price shown directly on the card, for example items ranging from $12.00 to $158.00 in one boutique’s collection. Sale, new-arrival and reduced-price labels use the black, gold and burgundy tags noted above.

Shipping threshold stated up front. A banner across the top of the site reads “FREE SHIPPING ON ALL ORDERS OVER $100.” A Boutique Locator page also lets shoppers find participating stores in person, tying the marketplace back to physical retail.

Brand Storytelling

The pitch is the marketplace itself. Rather than telling one founder story, the homepage explains the model: “Since 2011, Shoptiques.com has been the go-to online destination that connects savvy shoppers like you with thousands of local boutiques across the globe.”

Customer quotes carry the trust signal. Testimonials on the homepage speak to product uniqueness and support for small business, with one shopper noting they are “willing to pay a bit more for quality” and another citing free shipping and the post-purchase discount as reasons to return.

Notable Features

A rotating featured-boutiques carousel. The homepage surfaces a changing set of boutiques under a “Fresh From Our Boutiques” heading, each with a product count, giving the marketplace a sense of ongoing turnover.

Daily new arrivals. The site references 200-plus new arrivals added daily across its boutique network, reinforcing the scale of the aggregated catalogue.

Gift cards alongside product. Gift cards are sold as a standard catalogue item, giving shoppers a way to gift the marketplace itself rather than a single boutique.
