UpCart is a unique revenue optimization app designed specifically for Shopify by the team at AfterSell, by Rokt. With a 4.8 out of 5 star rating, and more than 600 reviews on the Shopify app marketplace, it’s one of the most popular around for boosting online revenue.

This app, which works seamlessly with most Shopify themes and add-ons, allows users to create a custom on-brand “slide cart” for their store, where they can showcase upsells and add-on products. This basically means you can introduce your customers to various products and additional items they might be interested in, and increase average order values.

You can see for yourself what the branded slide carts look like, by visiting the UpCart demo store page here. Basically, UpCart gives you a unique way to convince customers to purchase more every time they visit your site. Plus, it can help reduce abandoned cart rates too.

UpCart combines powerful revenue optimization features, with excellent customer support, and an easy-to-use interface. In fact, many of the over 600 5-star reviews on the Shopify app marketplace reference how easy the solution is to use.

When experimenting with this app myself, I was extremely impressed with the simple functionality, and how easy it is to customize the cart experience for your users. UpCart works with your existing Shopify theme and branding, so you can create a consistent, cohesive experience for customers.

The features of the app include:

  • In-cart upselling offers and “blocks” to boost average order value.
  • Free shipping and discount promotion bars for your website.
  • Cart announcements (to let customers know about new products and deals)
  • Add-on options for shipping insurance, extra services, and benefits.
  • Sticky cart button to boost cart visibility and reduce cart abandonment.
  • Custom HTML and CSS, for fully branded experiences
  • Easy integration with the AfterSell app, and other Shopify plugins.

UpCart also supports multilingual stores, so if you’re selling products to customers worldwide, you can deliver a localized experience for every buyer. Plus, you can show up to two offers to each customer, so you have more opportunities to increase conversions.

UpCart Shopify App Pricing Packages

The pricing for UpCart depends on how many orders you accept each month. There’s a free plan available for “Development stores”. This means agencies and companies who design stores for Shopify vendors can access all the features without paying anything.

If you want to use UpCart to increase sales on your own Shopify store, you’ll need one of their paid plans, all of which come with a 14-day free trial for beginners. Notably, UpCart’s plans all include access to the same features, including the Design Settings, custom HTML and CSS, and the announcements, rewards, add-ons, and upsells modules.

They also all include access to customer support from the AfterSell team. The only difference is in the number of orders you can optimize with UpCart:

  • 0-200 orders: $29.99 per month
  • 201-500 orders: $34.99 per month
  • 501-1000 orders: $54.99 per month
  • 1001-2000 orders: $89.99 per month
  • 2001-3000 orders: $119.99 per month
  • 3001-5000 orders: $149.99 per month
  • 5000+ orders: $199.99 per month

Ease of Use and Customer Support

As mentioned above, UpCart is one of the easiest Upsell apps I’ve used with Shopify – and I’ve experimented with quite a few. You don’t need any coding knowledge to create highly branded and customized cart experiences. Although, you can experiment with HTML and CSS.

If you need extra support with coding for any reason, or you want assistance tracking conversions and revenue with Google Analytics, and Facebook Pixel, the UpCart team will handle this for you.

UpCart allows users to create an unlimited number of funnels on any pricing plan, with single and multi-product options. Plus, you can add content widgets to the post-purchase offer page with AfterSell, that include images, text, and more.

Notably, the experience is great for customers too. Users don’t have to re-enter any of their payment details to access upsell offers, reducing friction in the buyer journey.

If you do need help using UpCart, or any of AfterSell’s product, the company has a great range of Help documents, FAQs, and blog posts on their website. You can also book a demo as a beginner, and contact the team via email, live chat, or social media.

UpCart Shopify App Review: The Final Verdict

UpCart is one of the most impressive upselling apps available for Shopify today. It works seamlessly with the existing Shopify platform, offers access to convenient, easy-to-use features, and gives you various ways to increase average order values and customer loyalty.

I love the app’s simplicity, flexibility, and the fact that you can customize everything to match your brand identity. Even the customer support is excellent. The biggest potential downside is the high monthly price for high-volume stores. Still, if you earn a lot of extra revenue with this app, you should find it quickly pays for yourself.

It’s easy to see why UpCart is one of the top ranked apps in the Shopify app store for Cart Upsells and Cart drawer customization.
