Karst

Karst, now trading online as Karst Goods, sells notebooks, planners, calendars, pens and desk goods made from stone paper, a recyclable, tree-free material, from a company founded in Sydney in 2016 and certified as a B Corporation. The Shopify store organizes stock by format, notebooks, action pads, journals, calendars and pens, alongside limited-edition collaboration runs.
Website Design
A cream ground with near-black type. Pages sit on a warm off-white background rather than pure white, with charcoal text and product photography, and section banners in forest green or lavender used sparingly for contrast.
Tiempos Headline over Monument Grotesk. Headings use a light-weight serif, Tiempos Headline, while labels, prices and body copy run in Monument Grotesk, a plain grotesque sans-serif, keeping the two registers clearly separate.
Scrolling text behind the hero image. The shop page opens on a photograph of notebooks and a pen, with a large marquee-style word repeating behind it before the product grid begins.
An oversized wordmark at the page foot. Below the footer links, KARST GOODS spans the full page width in the same serif used for headings.
Shopping Experience
A dense color-swatch grid. Notebook covers are shown as flat rectangles across a four-column grid, each labeled with color name, price and a Sold out flag where it applies, alongside limited-edition patterned covers under a Studio Muse name.
Paper layout chosen with the color. The product page pairs a color swatch selector with small icons for ruled or lined page layout, ahead of a single Add to Cart button.
A materials explainer beneath the buy box. A section titled "Engineered with obsession" follows with macro photography of the paper texture, then a claims row covering waterproofing, tear resistance, recycled stone content and friction-free writing.
Checkout with a live free-shipping bar. Shop Pay, PayPal and Google Pay sit above the standard fields, a progress bar states how much more is needed for free shipping, and a bundled pen is offered as "Better value when bought together."
Brand Storytelling
A stated founding line. The meta description reads "We started Karst in 2016, in Sydney with an original idea and a genuine purpose," anchoring the brand to a place and year rather than a vague origin story.
Third-party sustainability proof. A Certified B Corporation mark sits in the footer next to the copyright line, backing the tree-free material claims with outside accreditation rather than only in-house copy.
Named support staff at checkout. One checkout trust icon reads "Support, the Karst Way" and names two people, Cassie and Sophie, as the contact point, rather than a generic support link.
Notable Features
Wholesale and co-branding built into the main nav. Alongside the shop, the header links to Wholesale and Co-Brand pages, pointing to bulk and partnership options rather than a general contact form.
A newsletter incentive with a country selector beside it. The footer signup offers 10 percent off a first order, next to a country and currency selector defaulting to United States, USD.
An Ambassadors program alongside a Bookmark page. The footer lists Ambassadors and Bookmark as their own pages, distinct from the standard About and Support columns.
