Nicholas Moegly is an American illustrator who sells limited edition art prints and screen printed gig posters directly from a Shopify store attached to his portfolio site. The shop holds about 115 titles, mostly concert posters for acts including Billy Strings, The Head and the Heart, The Avett Brothers, Dave Matthews Band and American Football, plus standalone illustration editions and original artwork. Variants run from $10 to $2,000, with most prints falling between $40 and $125.

Website Design

Libre Baskerville over Lato. A serif, Libre Baskerville, sets headings and product names against Lato for body copy and interface text. The combination is quiet and print-adjacent, which suits a catalogue of posters.

Brass on near-white. The accent is a muted brass, #a38a4d and #a18a47, used for links and rules over a near-white #fdfdfd ground with #444444 body text and #ececec dividers. Every other colour on the page comes from the artwork.

An older Shopify theme, still tidy. The store runs a Timber-era build, with separate timber and theme stylesheets and a standalone responsive navigation script, rather than a current sectioned theme. That shows in the fixed grid and the simple stacked mobile menu.

Shopping Experience

The homepage is the catalogue. There is no collection landing step: the full run of prints loads as one grid, each card carrying the title, a From price or a regular price, and a Sold Out flag where the edition has gone. Sold out titles stay in place rather than being hidden, so the grid doubles as an archive.

Editions are the variant. The option name on most products is Edition, splitting a standard run from a foil or alternate treatment, and exhausted editions remain visible but unselectable in the picker.

Specifications instead of marketing copy. A product page lists edition sizes, paper and artwork dimensions in inches, the number of screen printed colours, paper stock, whether the piece is signed and numbered, and the year it was created. A note in the same block carries shipping timing and explains that mixed orders ship together.

Brand Storytelling

Portfolio first, store second. The top navigation runs WORK, Illustration, Gig Posters and Homesick Projects before STORE, ABOUT and CONTACT, so the shop reads as one tab of an illustrator’s site rather than a standalone brand.

The tour listing does the merchandising. Poster titles are formatted as act, venue and date, which turns the grid into a chronology of shows and gives repeat buyers an obvious way to collect.

Notable Features

Homesick Projects as a separate strand. A named body of personal work sits in the main navigation beside the commissioned illustration and poster sections, and feeds prints into the same store.

Originals sold beside prints. Original paintings appear in the same grid as the editions, at the top of the price range, so the store handles both without a separate gallery flow.

Print-run numbers stated up front. Edition sizes are given as exact counts on the product page, which fixes scarcity as information rather than as a countdown device.
