Huckleberry Roasters is a Denver specialty coffee roaster, founded in 2011, selling whole bean coffee, instant coffee, apparel, drinkware and brewing equipment online while running eight cafés across the city. The bean range splits into single origins from Ethiopia, Kenya, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Colombia and Uganda, and house blends including the Good Food Awards winning Phantom Limb, Blue Orchid, Sound & Vision, Civitas and a Skeleton Key decaf, priced from about $18 to $37 a bag. The brand shortens itself to HUCK throughout. Built as a headless Shopify storefront on Hydrogen and Oxygen rather than a standard theme.

Website Design

Near-black on white with one red. The interface runs almost entirely in a very dark gray on white, with a single muted red used for the logo mark and small accents. Nothing else competes with the coffee packaging, which carries the colour.

Gotham and DIN Next LT Pro, plus a condensed kit. Both families are self-hosted in multiple weights, and an Adobe Fonts kit adds alternate-gothic-atf and din-2014 condensed cuts for headline use. The pairing gives display type a narrow, poster-like proportion against a neutral body face.

Headline copy as design. Section titles are written to be read as voice rather than labels, with lines like "May we fill your cup" and "Keep it Fresh" set large across full-width panels.

Shopping Experience

A single Shop All page. Rather than separate collections, the shop stacks every group on one page: Huck Coffees with Most Popular, Single Origin and Blends filters, then Huck Instant, then Huck Goods split into Apparel, Drinkware and Brewing Supplies.

From pricing on every card. Because bags vary by size and grind, cards show a From price with a Buy Now button, pushing the variant choice to the product page.

A quiz as an alternative entry. A coffee quiz is promoted from the homepage, the subscriptions page and the footer, and offers a Surprise Me option for shoppers who do not want to answer it.

Subscriptions as their own catalogue. A dedicated page lists the ten coffees available on a recurring plan, including two Roaster's Choice tiers, alongside gift subscriptions in three, six and twelve month terms.

Brand Storytelling

Sourcing stated as relationships. The story page commits to treating smallholder farms and co-ops as "true partners, not just suppliers", with long-term terms rather than spot buying, and the catalogue reflects it with a named producer donation product at $2.

Community as the second theme. A We Give A Huck section sets out support for local and global nonprofits and a stated workplace position, and a Non Profit Request Form sits in the footer.

Notable Features

Cafés integrated into the site. Each of the eight locations has its own page with hours, directions and an Order Ahead link, listed on the homepage rather than buried in a store locator.

An app and a wholesale route. A Huck App and a Wholesale Partners section sit in the top navigation beside the shop.

A press kit in the footer. Media Kit, Press and blog links are given equal footing with policies and careers.
