Layers
Updated: September 11, 2026
Layers Design is a visual agency selling downloadable mockup imagery, billboards, out-of-home ad placements, zines and phone-screen scenes, priced at 20 pounds per file with a choice of Standard or Commercial licence. Alongside the shop it runs a Projects section of bespoke client work, on a Shopify-backed storefront. The site states its premise directly: “Layers is a specialist visual agency. We create in-context imagery to showcase and elevate your designs.”
Website Design
Near-black throughout. The shop, product and checkout pages all sit on a dark ground close to pure black, with white used only for form fields and the product photography itself standing out against it.
FavoritPro across the interface. Navigation, product titles and body text are set in a face named FavoritPro in the site’s stylesheet, a plain grotesk that keeps the numbered product names legible against the dark background.
A watermark on every asset. Product photography carries a small “+ layers.design” tag stamped in the corner, visible on both the populated and blank mockup variants shown on a product page.
Shopping Experience
A collapsed filter rail. The Shop page lists Type, Categories, Size and Location as collapsed filter groups on the left, with a Low to High, High to Low and Newest sort control above the grid.
Numbered products in a two-column grid. Items are labeled by number, such as N322 and N320, each thumbnail carrying an inline Add button and its price beneath.
Two mockup states per product. The N322 listing shows the same billboard scene twice, once with the ad panel filled and once left blank, followed by Standard and Commercial licence options, an Add to cart button, a spec list giving dimensions as 6000 x 4000 px and format as PSD, and a collapsed Licensing Information accordion.
Three express buttons at checkout. Shop, PayPal and Google Pay sit above a standard contact and billing address form. The Pay Now button is rendered in the same purple as the Shop Pay button above it, and the summary itemizes an Estimated taxes line before the total.
Brand Storytelling
Stock assets and bespoke work in one nav. The Projects menu item sits beside Shop in the header, separating commissioned client work from the numbered library items without leaving the agency side of the business off the main navigation.
A build credit in the footer. The footer closes with “Built by Hambly Freeman” beneath the copyright line, crediting the site’s own development studio.
Notable Features
Licence tier chosen at the point of purchase. Rather than a separate pricing page, the Standard versus Commercial choice sits directly in the Add to cart flow on each product.
A repeated newsletter block. An email signup with a Subscribe button appears again in the footer, positioned beside the Shop, Licensing, Instagram and Contact link columns.
Support content for a digital product. The footer lists Licensing, FAQ and Tutorials links together, treating the downloadable mockups as a product that needs its own documentation rather than a one-time purchase.
