Huey Lightshop is a Canadian lighting studio based in the Blue Mountains, selling handmade sconces, pendants, flush mounts, table lamps, floor lamps and candleholders alongside merch and gift cards. The catalogue runs to around sixty five pieces, priced on the UK storefront from £92 for a candle holder up to £886 and above for a chandelier, with a trade programme for designers and architects. The store is built on Shopify.
Website Design
Cream ground with jewel accents. Section colour schemes move between a warm cream, a near-black, a pale grey, a cobalt blue and a deep wine, with a soft gold used for contrast text. Colour is applied as full section grounds, so the page reads as a sequence of rooms.
EB Garamond for everything. Both the heading and body families are set to EB Garamond, giving headings, product names and prices a single serif voice. A second face, Herbik, appears only in the small uppercase captions set over photography.
A site-wide light switch. The header carries a World control toggling between AWAKE and DREAMING, and product pages add a Lights Off control, so the theme change is treated as part of the subject rather than an accessibility setting.
Shopping Experience
A counted index. A homepage section titled The Index lists each category with its stock count, from Sconces at 23 and Pendants at 15 down to Candlelight at 01, giving the shape of the catalogue before any grid loads.
Finish choice declared on the card. Collection cards print Available in 2 finishes or Available in 6 finishes under the name, and switch to From pricing where the variants differ, so the grid states variant depth without opening a product.
Specification in the buy box. Each product carries a Details and Downloads accordion covering dimensions, materials, bulb type, wattage, UL listing, damp rating and dimmer compatibility, with a tear sheet and an assembly guide offered as downloads. Individual products run to fourteen images.
Multi-currency by country. A country selector switches the store between GBP, CAD, USD and dozens of other currencies, and prices restate in the selected one throughout.
Brand Storytelling
Place stated first. The homepage opens on pieces made among the orchards and escarpments of the Blue Mountains, and the footer repeats handmade in small batches, Blue Mountains, Canada, and by appointment only.
Product copy written as scene. A marble and silk flush mount is introduced through a hidden Parisian jazz bar, with the dimensions and socket type held back until the accordion beneath.
A journal rather than a blog. Three entries are framed as readings and notes exploring the art of lighting, the first pairing each zodiac sign with a fixture.
Notable Features
An interactive room. A Dinner party module asks visitors to drag objects into a room to decorate it before guests arrive, placed between catalogue sections rather than on its own page.
A trade programme with its own nav slot. Interior designers, architects, hoteliers and creative professionals can apply for a direct line to the studio from concept through installation.
Downloads aimed at specifiers. Tear sheets and assembly guides sit on the product page itself, with warranty and material care entries in the footer.
