Plenaire external link icon

Plenaire is a British skincare brand selling cleansers, moisturisers, masks, scrubs, treatments, sets and accessories, made in the UK in small batches for a younger audience that treats a routine as self care. Products are vegan and dermatologically tested. The name comes from the French plein air, and the site states the positioning as “Skincare that celebrates your Skin Chemistry”. The catalogue holds 24 items, from an £8 muslin knotwrap to a £119 Morning To Evening set, with core singles between £16 and £29. Built on Shopify, with a selector that prices the store in more than 30 currencies.

Website Design

A lilac ground. The page background is #f7f3ff, with a deeper #ebe3fa on alternating sections and #dfcfff on overlay button hover. Type and buttons sit in a near-black #1d1d1d, and the footer takes the same pale lilac as the body rather than inverting.

Syne over DM Sans. Headings run in Syne, a wide geometric display face, with DM Sans for body copy, both from Google Fonts.

Navigation split three ways. The Shop menu offers the same catalogue by three logics at once: Bestsellers by product name, from Rose Jelly through to Aesthetique; Shop by mood into Cleanse, Energise and Relax; and Build your ritual into functional categories.

Shopping Experience

Faceted collection pages. Collections filter on availability, price range, product type, size (30ml or 100ml) and skin type, with nine sort orders and a stated count in the form “You’re viewing 1-5 of 5 products”.

Discounts shown on the card. Cards stack a percentage badge, a SAVE badge, the struck regular price and the sale price, with a star rating and review count above.

Long-form product pages. Each product opens into Product Overview, Key Benefits, Directions and Ingredients, with the full INCI list printed out. Rose Jelly names Sucragel and distilled Bulgarian rosewater as key ingredients and cross-links to the sets it appears in.

A wide payment set. The footer lists American Express, Apple Pay, Bancontact, Diners Club, Google Pay, iDEAL, Wero, Maestro, Mastercard, PayPal, Shop Pay and Visa, and Clearpay has a page of its own.

Brand Storytelling

Pleasure framed as the point. The brand statement argues skincare “should be more than just functional”, then describes the range in sensory terms: jelly cleansers, dewy serums, hydrating mists and cloud-light creams.

Four claims, stated plainly. Vegan and Cruelty Free, Clean Ingredients, UK Made and Carbon Neutral each get a short paragraph rather than a badge. The carbon claim is tied to clean drinking water projects in Odisha, India.

Notable Features

A named recycling programme. Recycle With Handle appears in both the navigation and the footer, describing curbside friendly packaging and a closed loop scheme.

A charity partnership carried in a product title. One treatment ships as “Aesthetique : In partnership with Anna Freud”, putting the collaboration in the catalogue rather than a campaign page.

Shipping threshold as a running bar. A scrolling announcement repeats “Free UK Shipping over £25 + 2 Free Samples” across the top of every page, and a footer form offers 10% off a first order.
