Rothy’s
Updated: September 15, 2026
Rothy’s sells machine washable shoes and bags knit from recycled materials, with separate ranges for women, men and kids. Women’s footwear covers flats, clogs, Mary Janes, loafers and mules, sneakers and boots, while bags run from totes and crossbodies to wallets, travel pouches, backpacks and replacement straps. Prices sit in the mid range for the category, with the flagship pointed flat at $165 and a Mary Jane at $125. The brand also runs physical stores and ships to more than thirty countries. Built on Shopify.
Website Design
Midnight, sandstone and brass. The design tokens name a navy near-black as the primary, a warm off-white sandstone as the page ground and a brass yellow as the accent. Product photography carries the colour, so the interface stays quiet.
Three faces with clear jobs. Grifo, a serif, handles editorial headlines, Maison Neue covers body and interface copy in book and medium weights, and Bebas appears as a condensed display face for short all-caps labels such as SHOP THE NEW POINT.
A campaign-first homepage. The page opens on a named campaign rather than a product grid, with a short manifesto paragraph and two calls to action that split shopping from the campaign story, then a colourway carousel and a new arrivals rail.
Shopping Experience
Menus organised by silhouette. Each top-level range expands into shoe shapes, with a Featured column beside it holding collections and drops. The same four category shortcuts, women’s, bags, kids and men’s, repeat in the empty cart and at the foot of product pages.
Colour and size in the buy box. A product page lists every colourway as a named swatch, then a size run in half steps from 5 to 13, with wide sizes flagged as online only. Out of stock sizes switch the button to a Notify Me waitlist rather than hiding.
Store stock checked from the page. A Find in-store control sits under the size grid and reports availability near the shopper, linking the online catalogue to the retail estate.
Terms stated at the buy point. Free shipping on all orders and thirty days to return or exchange appear directly beneath the add to cart area, with a link out to the full policy.
Brand Storytelling
Sustainability argued in numbers. A dedicated page gives figures rather than adjectives, citing LEED Gold and TRUE Zero-Waste certification for the owned factory, under one per cent upper material waste from knit to shape construction, and over three million pounds of cardboard saved.
Washability as the durability claim. The recurring argument is that machine washable products stay in use for years, which the brand presents as its answer to fast fashion.
Notable Features
A gift message builder in the cart. Shoppers write a note, pick a recipient email or phone number, and schedule delivery immediately, at a chosen date and time, or on arrival of the parcel.
Gift card balance lookup. A search field checks a card’s initial balance, remaining balance and expiry without an account.
Final Few as its own destination. Remaining sizes get a top-level nav entry rather than a sale banner, sitting between the kids range and the store finder.
