Art Directed sells photographic mockup files to designers and agencies: layered PSDs of devices, books and magazines, posters, print, out-of-home billboards and signage, and apparel. Single files run $12 to $16, bundles from $99, and the whole library of 337 mockups is offered from $360. The store describes the range as “real photography and shadows, layered PSD files with smart objects and a keen eye for detail”. Built on Shopify.

Website Design

White, grey and one amber. The theme sets white as the primary ground with a mid grey secondary and a single amber for accents and header indicators. Every product image is a photograph on its own ground, so the interface stays out of the way.

Helvetica end to end. Headings and body both resolve to a Helvetica and Arial stack. There is no display face at all, which leaves file names, prices and licence tables reading as a uniform catalogue index.

A numbered bundle ticker. Across the top of the homepage a scrolling list enumerates the current offers, from “1 Everything, 337 mockups from $360” through the individual collections. It works as both promotion and table of contents.

Category rows, not a single grid. Below a Spotlight row the page breaks into Devices, Printed Matter and Out-of-Home sections, each a horizontal run of thumbnails with its own View all link.

Shopping Experience

Licence is the variant. Every product, single file or bundle, is sold as three options: Standard, Commercial-Mini and Commercial. On a single mockup those price at $16, $57 and $120; on a bundle at $99, $280 and $800. Choosing a licence is the buying decision, since there is no size or format choice.

Licence terms printed in full. Rather than linking out, each page carries four descriptions covering the individual, studio, commercial-mini and corporate tiers, each with a table of time period, company type, paid reach and company size. Caps are numeric: five million views on commercial-mini, twenty million on corporate.

SKU names instead of product names. Listings are titled by code, ARTD-C07-Macbook-029 or ARTD-C05-Tote Bag-004, with one line of description such as “Macbook 16″ with real reflex.” The prefix tells a returning buyer which release a file came from.

Specification kept to five lines. A Features block states layered PSD, over 5000px wide, real shadows and reflexes. Nothing about software versions or file size appears.

Brand Storytelling

Client names as the proof. One marquee lists the studios and brands the files are used by, from Nike, Google and Canva through Pentagram, Monotype, Dixon Baxi and Gretel NYC. No case studies or testimonials sit behind it.

Understatement in the microcopy. The newsletter block reads “We sometimes send something”, and the footer credits the store design to an outside studio rather than promoting the brand further.

Notable Features

A student rate off-catalogue. A 50% licence discount is offered to accredited students who email from an educational address before buying.

A Freebies category. Some files are listed at their regular price with a sale price of $0.00, so free items sit in the same grid as paid ones.

Bundles described by contents. Collection pages itemise what is inside, counting posters, devices, books, signs and billboards separately.
