Sunday Citizen
Sunday Citizen is a United States home and apparel brand selling bedding, throws, pillows, loungewear, bath textiles and furniture to shoppers buying comfort rather than a room scheme. The range is organised around named proprietary fabrics such as Snug, Cloud Cool, Silky Lyocell and Premium Bamboo Viscose, with prices from $65 for a lap throw to $360 for a cooling comforter. Built on Shopify.
Website Design
Burgundy against warm neutrals. The palette centres on a deep burgundy, #3B101A, used for buttons and overlay panels, set against an off white #FBFAF9 for menu surfaces and a dark warm grey #343230 in the footer. A single orange, #D75533, is reserved for sale pricing.
Serif display over a grotesque. Headings use IvyoraDisplay, a high contrast serif, while navigation, product cards and body copy use TWKLausanne. The pairing keeps editorial passages and merchandising grids visually separate.
Carousels as the main layout device. The homepage stacks horizontal scrollers: best sellers, then back in stock, then two fabric carousels where each slide pairs a fabric name with a two word claim and one line of description. A press strip quoting Vogue, Elle Decor, the New York Post and Vice sits directly under the hero.
Shopping Experience
Two axes in every menu. Each top level drop down splits into Shop by Type and Shop by Fabric, so a shopper can enter through the object, meaning comforters, shams or robes, or through the material. Bedding, Bundles and Loungewear all repeat the pattern.
Grids carry price, rating and swatch count. Cards show a From price, a star average, a small plus count for additional colours and badges such as best seller or back in stock. A Quick view control opens details without leaving the grid.
A long product page. The buy box holds a subscription toggle, eleven colour swatches, three sizes, a size guide given in inches and centimetres, and a quantity selector. Below it sit accordions for Why You’ll Love It, Materials and Care, and Shipping and Returns, then a four tile benefit row and a review block carrying 854 reviews at 4.8.
Thresholds stated repeatedly. Free shipping over $200 and a free Snug Braided Throw over $360 appear in the announcement bar, on grids and in the cart drawer.
Brand Storytelling
A hotel origin story. The About page is written in the founder’s first person and traces the product back to a blanket made for hotel rooms that guests kept taking home. The stated mission is “Creating Joy Through Comfort”.
Softness as the single claim. Copy returns to one idea across sections, from “Soft is our love language” to “Bedding made softer”. Practicality is the counterweight, with machine washable and OEKO-TEX certification repeated alongside.
Notable Features
Fabric pages as a browse route. Each proprietary fabric has its own landing page, linked from both the menus and the homepage carousels.
Seasonal edits. A separate Edits menu collects curated sets such as The Fall Edit and The Cooling Edit alongside gift guides banded by price.
Review summarisation. The product page prints a generated review summary and a topic breakdown with percentages ahead of the individual reviews.
