WOAW is the retail arm of a Hong Kong contemporary art gallery, selling artist editions, sculpture, collectibles, books and apparel to buyers in Asia and beyond. The catalogue is organised first by name, with sections for David Shrigley, KAWS, Javier Calleja, Yoshitomo Nara, Virgil Abloh, Ken Kagami and roughly a dozen more, and second by object type. Prices are set in Hong Kong dollars and run from the low hundreds to six figures. The store states its position directly: bringing "the most exclusive collaborations from around the world to Asia with a fresh perspective." Built on Shopify.

Website Design

Helvetica and nothing else. Both headings and body copy use Helvetica at a 14 pixel base with a small amount of letter spacing, in black on white. There is no second typeface, no colour accent and no decorative rule anywhere in the layout.

Navigation as a list of names. The main menu is a long uppercase column of artists and partner studios, with a shorter CATEGORIES block underneath covering Apparel, Art, Book and Zine, BE@RBRICK, Ceramic, Collectibles, Edition Prints, Lifestyle, Home Goods, Skate Decks and Sale. The gallery structure is reproduced almost literally in the shop menu.

Objects on plain grounds. Product photography is studio shot against neutral backdrops with no styling or props, so a ceramic espresso set and a five figure paper sculpture share the same visual register.

Shopping Experience

Quick view over the grid. Every card opens a Quick view overlay rather than loading the product page, listing artist, title, year and price.

Currency shown two ways. Prices are held in HKD and a converter renders a local figure on grid cards, so the same sculpture can read as one number on the homepage and its HKD price on the product page itself.

Product pages written as edition notes. A SPECIFICATION block lists material, dimensions, edition size and signing detail, for example "Edition of 100" and "Signed and numbered under feet", followed by a dispatch date and the caution that edition numbers are randomly assigned.

Enquiry before checkout. High value pieces carry a Contact Us for More Info link and an Ask a question form with name, email and message, protected by hCaptcha, sitting directly beneath the Add to cart control.

Brand Storytelling

A single paragraph carries the whole story. The About Us page holds one statement describing the store as "a way of living for art enthusiasts in every corner of the world," and the same text repeats in the footer of every page. There is no founder story, timeline or gallery history in the shop.

Notable Features

Eight payment marks in the footer. American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, PayPal, Shop Pay, UnionPay and Visa are shown, covering a mixed local and international buyer base.

Recently viewed and related rails. Product pages close with a You may also like row and a Recently viewed strip, plus share buttons for Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Default theme copy still in place. The newsletter block and the shipping information tab carry unedited Shopify sample text, including a line inviting the merchant to "Entice customers to sign up for your mailing list."
