Mark Conlan

Mark Conlan sells original illustrations, prints and commissioned artwork from an illustrator based in Ireland, with prints seen priced around 39 to 45 euros. The shop serves collectors and fans of his colourful, character-driven style rather than a broader home decor audience, and sits alongside a portfolio of personal and client work. Built on Shopify with free worldwide shipping.

Website Design

A serif headline over a sans body. Headings are set in Gilda Display, a high-contrast serif, while body text and interface labels run in Fustat, a plain grounded sans, so the artwork stays the loudest element on the page rather than the typography competing with it.

Bright blue against a peach ground. The accent colour is a saturated blue, #3e4cf5, paired with a warm peach off-white, #f5e9e2, and a deep navy, #1c215d, a palette built to sit quietly behind full-colour illustration rather than compete with it.

Illustration leads every section. The homepage opens with a personal introduction, “Hey I’m Mark Conlan, an illustrator and artist based in Ireland,” directly beside artwork, rather than a product photograph or lifestyle banner.

Shopping Experience

A short, three-part shop. The Shop menu splits into New, Originals and Prints, plus a separate Commissions link, keeping one-off originals distinct from reproducible prints and custom work.

Klarna and Shop Pay at checkout. Installment payment through Klarna sits next to Shop Pay express checkout, alongside a quick view option on product listings.

Prints priced in a narrow band. Items seen on the site run about 39 to 45 euros, consistent with open-edition prints rather than one-off originals, which would be priced individually.

Brand Storytelling

The artist speaks in first person throughout. Copy across the homepage stays personal: “My characteristic whimsical style is both unique and playful, accentuated by a bold use of colour in full spectrum and limited palettes,” and commissions are framed as “Have a vision? I’d love to bring your idea to life.”

Work is shown, not just sold. A separate Work section lists Projects, Personal Work and Sketchbook, giving visitors a portfolio view of process and client output alongside the shop.

Notable Features

Commissions as a standing offer. A dedicated Commissions link and homepage prompt, “Interested in a commission or a creative collab?”, treats bespoke work as a core part of the business, not a special request.

A monthly newsletter with stated cadence. The signup copy specifies “I try my best to send out a newsletter update every month,” promising behind-the-scenes content and offers rather than a vague subscribe prompt.

Direct contact over a contact form. The homepage lists an email address, “hello@markconlan.com,” in plain text next to the “Come say hello” line, alongside a separate Contact page.

A “Discover my latest work” strip near the footer. New pieces are surfaced in their own section labeled “Fresh from the studio,” giving recent output a dedicated spot rather than folding it into the general shop grid.
