bareMinerals

bareMinerals sells mineral-based makeup and skincare, from its original loose powder foundation to tinted moisturizer, setting powder and a SKINLONGEVITY skincare line, on a Shopify storefront that ships internationally with a country and currency switcher in the header. The catalogue is organized by category (foundation, concealer, setting powder, eye, cheek, lip, skincare) and by concern, and the site runs a Find My Shade tool and a GOOD Rewards loyalty program alongside standard navigation.

Website Design

White space carrying the product. Pages run on a plain white ground with black text and minimal ornament, leaving color to the products themselves, foundation and eye shadow shades photographed on their own swatches and packaging shots.

A serif for headings, a geometric sans for everything else. Headlines and callout copy use a light-weight serif display face, while prices, labels and navigation run in a distinct sans body font, splitting editorial-style headings from a functional retail interface.

Promotional banners run the full width of the header. A site-wide sale banner, currently a Friends & Family discount, sits above the navigation on every page, making the active promotion the first thing a visitor sees.

Shopping Experience

Sale pricing shown against list price. Product tiles display a discounted price next to a struck-through regular price, for example the ORIGINAL Loose Powder Foundation at $29.62 against $39.50, so the current promotion is visible before a shopper opens a product page.

Shade counts on the grid. Tiles for shade-dependent products state how many options exist, such as 25+ shades on the loose powder foundation, before the shopper clicks through to the shade selector.

Inline variant selection from the homepage. Featured product tiles include a Select Shade control and add-to-bag action without leaving the grid, similar in pattern to the site’s other quick-add categories.

Brand Storytelling

Ingredient counts as a selling point. The original foundation is marketed on being made with just five ingredients, positioning simplicity of formula as the brand’s core claim rather than a longer benefits list.

Measurable claims over adjectives. Copy for the tinted moisturizer states a specific hydration boost percentage from hyaluronic acid, and the loose powder is labeled the top-selling mineral foundation with a stated unit count, both stated as figures rather than descriptive language.

Notable Features

A shade-matching tool in primary navigation. Find My Shade sits alongside Shop and About Us rather than buried in a product page, treating shade discovery as its own top-level task.

A named loyalty program. GOOD Rewards appears in the header on both desktop and mobile menus, giving repeat customers a persistent entry point separate from account login.

Location and currency settings surfaced early. A location selector covering dozens of countries and currencies sits near the top of the page, reflecting a catalogue that ships well beyond its home market.
