toucca kids

Toucca Kids sells polarized, UV400 sunglasses and blue light glasses for children roughly six to twelve years old, with named styles such as Quinn, Hudson and Finn priced between $20 and $40 depending on discount. The company positions itself around a founding story, parents inspired by a toy fox named Toucca, and describes its products as gear for “modern day mini-explorers.” Built on Shopify.
Website Design
Arapey and Avenir split heading and body duties. Arapey, a serif, is used for headings, giving the kids’ brand a softer, storybook quality, while Avenir, a geometric sans, carries body copy and navigation.
A teal and pink pairing carries the palette. A saturated teal green (#108474) and a bright pink (#d5106c) are the two dominant accent colors, set against white and black, matching frame colors like Sea Green and Blush Pink used in product naming.
Product photography favors kids wearing the glasses. Rather than plain product-on-white shots alone, lifestyle imagery of children in the frames appears across the homepage and category pages.
Shopping Experience
Two product lines split the shop. Sunglasses and Blue Light Glasses are the two top-level shop categories, each with its own named styles and color options.
Named styles carry named colors. Quinn comes in Blush Pink, Hudson in Dark Navy and Finn in Sea Green, with current pricing showing Quinn at $20 (from $40) and Hudson and Finn at $30 (from $40).
Free shipping is tiered by order size. Thresholds between $55 and $65 unlock free priority shipping, a narrower band than a single flat threshold.
A first-order discount and reviews sit close together. Newsletter signup offers 15 percent off, and a review count of more than 332 ratings, delivered through Judge.me, appears near the top of shop pages.
Brand Storytelling
The founding story is told through a mascot. The company name and identity trace to a toy fox called Toucca, which the brand credits as the inspiration for the business.
Manufacturing claims are specific rather than general. Copy states the glasses go through “over 15 different steps” in production and describes the lenses as optometrist approved, polarized, UV400-rated, and shatter and scratch resistant.
The language stays child-focused throughout. Copy such as “equip modern day mini-explorers for adventures beyond the backyard” frames the products around play and outdoor time rather than listing lens specifications first.
Notable Features
Blue light glasses address screen time directly. Copy positions this second product line around reducing headaches and improving sleep, a distinct use case from the sun-protection line.
Spring hinge temples are called out as a durability feature. Alongside shatter and scratch resistant lenses, the reinforced hinge is presented as built for active kids rather than adult-style eyewear scaled down.
Cases and pouches ship with every pair. Protective cases are included standard, a detail aimed at parents concerned with everyday durability.

The Thin Gold Line

The Thin Gold Line sells The Cinematic Collection, four large-format art prints that rework iconic films, Star Wars, The Matrix, Star Trek and The Lord of the Rings, into abstract minimalist compositions finished with hot gold foil stamping on black paper. The site is a standalone brand showcase built as static HTML pages rather than a hosted storefront, and each product routes buyers to an "GO TO AMAZON" button instead of an on-site cart.
Website Design
A black stage with one gold accent. Pages run on a near-black background with white type, so the only color comes from the gold foil visible in the product photography itself rather than from any interface element.
Georgia display type over Montserrat labels. Headlines like "Pressed in Gold, Held in Darkness" are set in Georgia serif, including bold and italic cuts, while navigation, specs and body copy switch to Montserrat, a plain sans-serif.
Video before product. The homepage opens on a looping video rather than a static hero image, then moves straight into the four-print grid before any brand text appears.
Shopping Experience
One collection, one price. All four prints are shown together at $149.00 each, numbered I through IV, with no variant grid, discount tiers or bundle offer.
A spec sheet in place of a buy box. The product page lists color, foil type, size, weight and frame status as a short data table above the purchase button, closer to a product datasheet than a typical Shopify buy box.
Purchase happens off-site. Instead of Add to cart, the button reads "GO TO AMAZON," sending shoppers to Amazon to complete checkout rather than handling payment on thethingoldline.com.
A cross-sell row beneath the details. Each product page closes with a "You May Also Like" section pointing back to the other three prints in the same collection.
Brand Storytelling
Light and darkness as the organizing idea. A dedicated philosophy section frames the thin gold line itself as the symbol tying the four prints together, described as the point where light pierces shadow.
Materials get their own page. A Technique and Materials section names Fedrigoni's Sirio Ultra Black paper, Kurz Luxor gold foils and hot foil stamping specifically, and explicitly distinguishes the process from cheaper faux-foil or laminated alternatives.
Provenance by association. The manufacturing story credits an Italian print studio also used by luxury fashion houses, positioning the prints against that reference point rather than describing an in-house founder story.
Notable Features
A minimal footer menu. Site navigation is reduced to four links, Home, Collections, The Project and About Us, plus Instagram and Pinterest icons.
No account or membership system. There is no sign-in, loyalty program or newsletter capture visible on the pages checked, unusual for a direct-to-consumer print brand at this price point.
Consistent framing across every print. All four pieces share the same 70 x 100 cm format and unframed presentation, so the collection reads as one product in four variations rather than four unrelated items.
